Sunset Manor is just ½ mile from
downtown Guerneville with wonderful views of the valley and the
redwoods. While close to that “bustling
metropolis,” Sunset Avenue has very little traffic, and the
neighbors are not close. This is a quiet and peaceful place to be!
Sunset Manor is fully furnished, providing vacation rental for 1
to 6 people. There are two bedrooms, full kitchen, HDTV,
parking for two cars, washer/dryer, and high speed Internet access.
There many options for your time in Guerneville, both at Sunset Manor
and in the area.

Our rates are
shown on another page. We're having a very successful 2010 season - we’re
having guests almost every weekend from June through October. When we
started this business in June of 2008, it was a hope that we could pay the
bills. Well, that didn’t happen in 2008, but it's working now! Over
the past two years, we’ve had really great tenants, and none we wouldn’t
want to
serve again.
We have great
comments from our guests on two listing websites
- VRBO and
HomeAway.
We didn't know what lengths these sites go to ensure that the comments are
honest until we got into it ! We are encouraged to respond,
but we cannot change what people say. We are most grateful for the
positive comments.
For 2010, we're
asking for a very modest increase in rates, so for the summer (through
September) we're at $140/night, and next winter (through May 15) $110/night. Also, our cleaning fee will be
$30, regardless of the number of pets or people (actually, it takes the two of
us at least 3 hours to get ready for the next tenant!)
Guerneville is a small (2500 residents) community
about 20 miles west of Santa Rosa and 15 miles east of the Pacific Ocean, and
located on the right (north) bank of the Russian River. It is a tourist
town in summer, having a number of resorts and beaches along the river, nearby
wineries, and state parks. There’s swimming, canoeing and kayaking, golf,
horseback riding, theater, and nightlife.
We've found that some of our guests are happy just to enjoy
being away from the everyday pressures of home, to lay back, and enjoy doing
nothing with a fire in the fireplace and the wonderful views outside.
Also, we
offer access to our collection of over 500 movies, PlayStation 2 games, and a
bunch of Reader’s Digest Condensed Books. We have wireless Internet
access and a computer for you to use.
Sunset Manor
has also been a place for extended families to come together. It’s
wonderful when parents and children no longer living together can be with each other with minimum responsibilities just to
enjoy being together - and we really enjoy providing that opportunity.
Public transportation to Guerneville is the
Sonoma County Transit #20 bus from Santa
Rosa, Forestville, and Sebastopol which makes 8 trips on weekdays and four on
Saturday and Sunday.
For those driving, Guerneville is located on Highway 116
which is also River Road (and Main Street in Guerneville). While Google
Maps, MapQuest, and Yahoo Maps all show the area well enough, they provide very bad directions. If you are
planning to visit Sunset Manor, be sure to get the directions from us!
